Copy of Black Worker Expo 2019 at Coppin State
We’re working with the National Black Worker Center to co-sponsor the first annual Working While Black Expo. August 24th & 25th at Coppin State University!
This Expo will feature an apprenticeship fair, workshops, and round table discussions tackling the tough issues that come with Working While Black and building Black worker power in the job place and across our city. You’ll also hear from thought provoking and powerful artists and activists including:
Cory McCray, Maryland State Senator
Lady Brion- National Poetry Slam Chamption, and Baltimore native
Dr. Kristee Haggins- co-founder, Safe Black Spaces
Gioncarlo Valentine- Award winning photographer and Baltimore Native
Kwesi Chappin- Senior Political Director, Color of Change
Lethal Ladies of Baltimore– Leadership School for Young Women Step Team
We're inviting all of our community members to show their support for the Baltimore Black Worker Center by coming out to the Expo and sharing info about our Black Worker Equity panel discussion with local grassroots leaders and Know Your Rights/Legal Aid session, and and stopping by our table in the community corner to connect with us.
This expo is the perfect event to discover valuable resources and opportunities, meet other community members, shop with Black owned businesses; and enjoy music, food, workshops, performances and more! Learn more and register at www.blackworkerexpo.org.
